How to fill a PDF form online

1

Upload your PDF

Drop any fillable (AcroForm) PDF into the tool. SafeKit detects every text field, checkbox, radio button and dropdown automatically.

2

Fill & style the fields

Type your answers, then set font, size, color, alignment and bold/italic/underline — for one field or all of them in a single click. The live preview shows the exact result.

3

Download the result

Save the finished PDF instantly. Keep the fields editable, or flatten them into permanent text for sharing and printing.

Included fonts

Helvetica and Courier are built into every PDF viewer. Roboto, Open Sans, Montserrat and Poppins are embedded from open-source font files. Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri and Myriad Pro are proprietary typefaces, so SafeKit embeds their metric-compatible open equivalents (Arimo, Tinos, Carlito and Source Sans 3) — same widths and spacing, freely redistributable. All embedded fonts support bold, italic and bold-italic styles. Own a licensed copy of a proprietary font (e.g. MyriadPro-Regular.otf)? Choose Upload font in any font menu to embed the genuine file — it never leaves your browser.

PDF form filler — FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened, edited and rebuilt entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted — you can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
What kind of PDFs work?
PDFs with real form fields (called AcroForm) — the kind where your PDF viewer lets you click into boxes and type. Scanned paper forms and “flat” PDFs have no fields to detect; those need an editor that draws text on top instead.
Can I change the font of my answers?
Yes. Pick from Helvetica, Courier, Roboto, Open Sans, Montserrat, Poppins, plus metric-compatible equivalents of Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri and Myriad Pro — or upload your own .ttf/.otf file (like a licensed Myriad Pro) to embed the genuine typeface. You can also set size, color, alignment, bold, italic and underline — per field or for every field at once.
What does “flatten” do?
Flattening converts form fields into permanent page content. The text can no longer be edited in any PDF viewer — ideal when you’re submitting or printing a completed form. Leave it off to keep the fields editable.
Why does the downloaded file stay editable in my PDF viewer?
By default SafeKit keeps the AcroForm intact so you (or the recipient) can still adjust answers. The styles you chose are written into each field’s appearance. Turn on “Flatten” before downloading if you want the answers locked in.
